Updates: What we're doing/Upcoming Missions Trip

Hey Everyone!

Well, this summer has been a blast! From The Wilds to the Cedar Point trip it has been a blast! Now, as it is winding down, the youth group is busy preparing for the upcoming missions trip(August 18-25). Please pray for the teens as they are working on their rent-a-teen projects and packing. Also please pray that everything goes well on the trip.

Also, I would like to bring the "Through The Bible in 52 Days" Facebook group to everyone's attention. As we are all working through this together-this is a great way to share all that you are learning. Discuss!

So, some changes are in the works, and I will update you on those as soon as I get more info.

We are working through a new program called The Truth Project about apologetics. It's really interesting, so, you don't want to miss it.

Ice skating was a ton of fun! Sorry if you missed it. From watching Joel's awesome moves to playing tag-good times were had. I will be posting pictures from the activity very soon so, make sure you look at the picture page.

I will post any info on upcoming activities once the next one is announced. Until then keep checking the blog.

Please, keep praying for Doug and his family as he is recovering from his liver transplant.

Upcoming Ice Skating Event

Hey Everyone! Pastor Don announced on Wednesday the upcoming Ice Skating event that we will be having April 12. We will be meeting at the church at 6 p.m., going to Pizza Hut for dinner, then proceeding to the Birmingham Ice Arena for skating. The cost is $15. We hope you can come, it should be a blast!

Also, make sure to keep checking the blog for updates concerning future activities!

*UPDATE*: Make sure you bring $3 extra so that you can rent skates! If you already have ice skates-don't worry about it. Just bring yours.

There have been four people selected, by R.U.S.H. teens, to take leadership of R.U.S.H. These four people are Doug, Jeff, Lauren, and Ashley. These four are to have a big say in the operation of R.U.S.H. If you have any questions talk to them, and if they do not have answers for you, then they will get the answers. Pray for them as they have decisions to make in the next couple months.

Winter Camp

This past weekend we went to CoBeAc for snow camp. There were 13 people that went, and only 4 were guys. The preaching was very good, and the the activities fun. We had a snow fight, where everyone was exhausted by the end, but everyone kept on going.

Getting Lost In The Corn Maze

What a night! We had 23 people show up for the corn maze activity. It was a blast. Many different groups got separated, and we trying to find each other by yelling at each other. There were no casualties this year (no one falling and getting stepped on). Many got lost, but that was the point of the corn maze. Most important thing is everyone got home safe.

Bible Study

We are starting up a Bible Study that is going to be held at Pastor Don and Christy's house on Saturday mornings. We will be starting at 10:00 a.m. Please start showing up around 9:30 a.m.

We are going to be going through a series, starting very basic, from Positive Action. There are four books of eight lessons each. We will continue through them, and the embark onto something that is a little bit more intense.

This is a Bible study that is mean for the people that want to be serious in their Christian walk. It is for those people that want to know God more, and want to know how we are to live for Him.

This is meant to produce people that are strong in their stance, and can withstand anything that will be thrown at them.

Come and join us if this is desire. We are starting September 30. You can join at anytime!!

Utah Missions Trip

Five members of R.U.S.H. and I just returned from Utah for a missions trip. This missions trip was one of the hardest missions trip that I have ever been on. We canvassed for approx. 11 hours in 110 degree heat. The other days got better as the week went on.

We took one day to go to an amusement park and had a blast even though, as all the teens made clear to me, "Cedar Point was way better." We had fun anyways.

This missions trip was a lot of hard work, but I think everyone that went on the missions trip, came back with a different view on missions work. It was a great missions trip.
